2020 CEO Bike Build success
Heartfelt thanks to our CEO participants for their huge part in making the CEO Bike Build 2020 a success. In what has been a challenging year for individuals and businesses globally, their time and generosity of spirit is appreciated more than ever.
It was inspiring to see and hear how much their presence and connection meant to the TRACTION participants – their feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many of them saying that meeting the CEOs and TRACTION supporters was the best part of their day!
One of our core values at TRACTION is connection, and that’s what the CEO Bike Build is all about. Corporate and community leaders come together with TRACTION participants in an environment of shared experiences, learning and fun.
Each young person teams up with a CEO participant to assemble a new bicycle together, but with a twist! The young person plays the lead role, guiding their CEO partner through the bike build process.
Following the success of the inaugural event in 2019, this year’s event also provided the chance for the CEO’s and partner organisations to meet and connect with the young people they are supporting and see first hand the impact of their fundraising efforts, which allow more young people to access TRACTION programs.
At TRACTION, we support with young people in need, or “at risk”, through hands-on learning programs, like our 9-week Bike Build program. The CEO Bike Build is an opportunity for them to demonstrate the skills they’ve learnt at TRACTION. It’s chance for them to meet new people, and share the experience with wonderful role models, and potentially learn a thing or two from their CEO partner.
Once the bike building was done, the event provided time for the CEO’s and young people to celebrate together.
