Our 'Bicycle Build and Maintenance' programs are typically delivered in conjunction with local schools, government agencies, community service organisations and Councils who identify young people in need to participate.

TRACTION provides mobile ‘pop-up’ outreach programs throughout Southeast Queensland. Our ‘Bicycle Build and Maintenance’ programs are typically delivered in conjunction with local schools, government agencies, community service organisations and Councils who identify young people in need to participate.

TRACTION Mentors facilitate each workshop and provide technical assistance and positive role-modelling.

The programs provide a positive learning environment to help at-risk or disengaged youth experience a sense of success, build skills, confidence and self-belief, and foster community connection.

Participants have fun whilst learning new skills and making new friends.

Participants will disassemble, re-assemble and quality-check a bicycle, and subject to available funding, may even get to keep the bicycle at the end of the day.

Places typically limited to 6 young people (aged 12-17 years old).
