Scenic Rim

TRACTION was first approached in 2017 by a number of schools from the Scenic Rim region to deliver programs for their students. TRACTION responded to this need and commenced delivering programs from its Brisbane operations. Support was secured to transport students to and from TRACTION’s Moorooka workshop to participate. 35 participants were supported during 2017-18 in this manner.

With a fuller sense of the need within the Scenic Rim, TRACTION secured funding to establish a workshop in Beaudesert to serve as a regional hub to deliver programs for disadvantaged young people of the Scenic Rim community.

In July 2018 the new workshop was established, and TRACTION began operating 1 day a week, delivering 1 program per term to participants from BDHS. This level of operation provides places for 24 young people each year.

TRACTION’s presence and the focus on helping venerable young people in the Scenic Rim has attracted significant support from the local business community, critical for the long term sustainability of the program.

In addition to this wonderful support from the local community, TRACTION is fortunate to have established a support partnership with The Bryan Foundation, which will see TRACTION expand the number of places available for local youth from July 2019.
