Sean Mayo - Project Lead for Toowoomba

Sean joins as Project Lead for our Toowoomba Region. With 15 years’ experience in youth development, outdoor education, and community programs, he brings both local knowledge and expertise. His background in experiential learning gives him a deep appreciation for the power of practical engagement - perfectly aligned with TRACTION’s approach.

Program delivery has just begun, but Sean shares,

“It’s already clear this program can make a powerful impact - thanks to the groundwork laid with local schools and community organisations who’ve welcomed us from day one.”

On the impacts he’s seen from a TRACTION program, Sean adds,

“It’s the small moments when a young person finishes a task they didn’t think they could do, or when a quiet participant lights up during group work. The balance of structure and flexibility lets us meet young people where they’re at, and you can literally see their confidence building session by session. It’s hands-on, real, and grounded in connection and that’s what makes it so special.”
