TRACTION Secures Community Lease at Brisbane International Cycle Park!

Opening of the Brisbane International Cycling Park December 2024

TRACTION is now officially part of the Brisbane International Cycle Park at the Murarrie Recreation Reserve, thanks to securing a community lease at this incredible facility. 

Last December, our team had the pleasure of offering free bike safety checks during the grand opening of this state-of-the-art venue. It was a fantastic day, and we were thrilled to see so many people come out to celebrate the launch of the track.

With our community lease in place, we’re excited to deliver a range of programs and community engagement activities right at this world-class facility, providing more young people with the chance to get involved in cycling and more.

A big thank you goes out to Councilor Lisa Atwood, Di Farmer, Ross Vastamp, Brisbane City Council, Queensland Government and the Australian Government for their support of this amazing investment in the facility.

This track is built to international standards and will be used as a training facility leading up to the Olympics. But don't worry, it's not just for athletes! The track is open to everyone, whether you’re into speed skating, cycling, or just want to ride for fun. It’s an incredible space that we can all enjoy.

We’re also excited to see our friends at Balmoral Cycling Club and Speedzone Speedskating take to the track. It's a hub for all kinds of cycling and skating enthusiasts, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for this community!
