Hands-on mentor programs for young people

What We Do

Sparking momentum with an evidence-based approach

Many young people do not thrive in traditional learning environments. We aim to spark momentum in their lives through hands-on, practical programs led by professional mentors - underpinned by an evidence-based approach.

Whether it’s building a bike from scratch in an interactive workshop or supporting work experience opportunities, TRACTION programs enable young people to learn new skills, gain confidence, and make new connections.

TRACTION Programs

FAQs

  • We work with a variety of schools and organisations across SE Queensland, including Toowoomba. Would you like us to work with your school or organisation? Get in touch.

  • We work with schools to identify and engage young people who will benefit from TRACTION programs. Because our programs are group-based, working in partnership with schools and organisations is pivotal to the outcomes.

Contact your child’s year level coordinator, and we’ll be in touch from there.

  • Our programs align with the school term, so the timing of your enquiry influences the timing of our delivery.

Our programs are often in high demand. If we don’t have space available during the current term, you’ll be added to our waiting list, and we’ll be in touch as soon as a space is available for your organisation.

From enquiry through to the program start, it can take as little as two weeks to get started.

  • You’ll need a suitable location on-site, or be willing to transport your group of young people to one of our workshops off-site. You’ll also need to provide a representative to work alongside our team for the duration of the program.

  • Our programs are powered by the generosity of the community. You can support through philanthropy, one-off donations, and by getting involved in a community fundraiser.

Please note that we’re not currently looking for volunteer mentors or donations of bikes and bike parts.

    Thank you for your support!

  • No. We have a range of other programs, including:

  • We work hard to make sure our programs are accessible to any school that wishes to partner with us, and we negotiate the terms of this through MOUs with school partners.
