Supporting the transition to high school
IGNITE program
The IGNITE Transition to High School Program provides a safe, strengths-based environment for Year 5 and 6 students to develop the skills, confidence, and connections needed for a successful move into secondary education.
This early intervention program addresses the emotional, social, and practical challenges that come with school transition, helping students to build resilience, strengthen peer relationships, and approach high school with a sense of belonging and readiness. Through hands-on learning, structured check-ins, and culturally responsive mentoring, Ignite transforms a time of uncertainty into an opportunity for growth and empowerment.

TRACTION’s culturally safe and inclusive Bike Build program, co-designed with Gunya Meta under the guidance of Aunty Faith Green. The program empowers First Nations young people to connect with culture and community while building confidence, resilience, and practical skills through the experience of building and customising their own bike.
Our evidence-based approach
Our programs focus on building strengths, resilience and practical skills to help young people navigate life’s hurdles.
They’re grounded in proven approaches, including:
Youth-centred and strengths-based learning – meeting young people where they are.
Trauma-informed support – recognising past experiences and creating safe spaces.
Social learning and self-determination – fostering confidence, responsibility and growth.
Systems perspective – addressing the bigger social and structural challenges that affect young people’s futures.
