Miles Government backs TRACTION with $2.7m commitment to help young people
We are truly grateful to share that Don Brown MP, Kim Richards MP and the Miles Government have made a commitment of $2.7m to TRACTION so we can help more young people engage in education, build resilience and skills to thrive.
TRACTION has supported 3,000 young people across SEQ over the last 9 years. Our hands-on learning and mentoring approach is evidence-based and best practice - we've blended leading research from around the world with our own local experience helping young Queenslanders.
Don and Kim have seen the difference TRACTION makes. They understand the enduring impact our incredible team of Mentors make helping young people:
Schools see massive improvements in wellbeing and resilience in their students
Families report better attendance and behaviour at school
Young people feel more confident, build vital skills, and get on the path to realising their potential
Investing early, to keep young people engaged in learning, healthy and well, and on a pathway to employment, is a smart choice. Importantly, this funding will help expand TRACTION's evidence-based and proven approach so we can reach young people even earlier. Creating safe spaces where they develop crucial life skills is vital to help young people build their own positive futures. With this support, TRACTION can continue to help primary school kids, from the age of 10, make successful transitions into secondary school, and then support them on their learning journey.
We are so grateful to Don and Kim and the Labor Government for backing TRACTION to help more young people.
When young people are on pathways to their potential, they thrive and so do our communities.
